Words and phrases

You may have a verse, phrase or word that has meant something to you over the years, reflect on that, talk to the Lord about it, ponder it, let it become for you your prayer word or phrase.

As you settle to prayer have this prayer word or phrase on you mind, let it fill your mind and your heart.

If you don't have such a verse, phrase or word then try one of these:

The Lord is my Shepherd (Ps 23:1)

The Lord is my light and my salvation (Ps 27:1)

Peace - My peace I give you (John 14:27

I have called you by name, you are mine (Is 43:1b)

I have loved you with an everlasting love (Jer 31:3)

'I know the plans I have for you', declares the Lord (Jer 29:11)

Stay with your prayer word or phrase as long as seems right. Remember this is feeding you in the deepest parts of your being; your soul. At the end of your time reflect briefly on what happened, how you felt, any new insights you had or anything that you might need to consider further in your next time of prayer, or with your prayer companion.
